CEAP PROPOSED STRUCTURE
The structure and formality of CEAP is up to us, its participants, to decide. The currently adopted structure for CEAP is outlined below. As we proceed, we will need to evolve and develop this structure to fit our evolving activities. Please join in the discussion here:
Segment Liaisons
The City has proposed a structure based on a committee of liaisons, two from each community segment, chosen by the constituents of each segment. Liasions would serve staggered two year terms.
Liaisons make the commitment to be the lead for their segment, however, they are not formally selected to represent their segment and cannot make
commitments on behalf of their segment.
Liaison expectations:
- Map their segment – who is included, what is already happening, what interest level is there, what are the barriers to greening
- Disseminate information throughout their segment about the new CEAP
- Communicate segment efforts to the CEAP
- Attend 75% of Committee meetings each year
- Foster environmental actions in their segment either through existing or new segment networks
Liaison Term Length:
Staggered terms to begin – half 1 year, half 2 years – then move all to 2 years
Liaison Invitations:
Liaisons will be chosen at a CEAP meeting by the segments.
Committee Chair
A Committee Chair would be appointed for the first year and then elected annually thereafter.
The role of the Committee Chair is fairly straightforward:
Chair roles:
- Create Meeting Agendas
- Facilitate Meetings
- Coordinate information sharing between segments and committee
- Facilitate the rotating responsibility for meeting minutes by a liasion.
Walt Hays, previously the Chair of the Mayor's Green Ribbon Task Force, was drafted by the City to serve as a temporary Chair, and is serving in this role until the CEAP as a whole can ratify Walt or elect another official Chair. (Thank you, Walt!)
